God, one of the things I’ve missed most in the past few years is the ability to travel. I don’t need to drone on about COVID, we all are tired of it. So you and I both know why I’ve been aching to get my ass on the road. Staying put too long starts to feel very much like Groundhog Day. As a free-spirited woman, I have an itch to get out into the world and see things I’ve never seen before - up close and personal. I photograph what moves me. I have thousands of photos that I never do anything with and yet, I can’t help but continue to click. Photography provides a dopamine hit, that’s why I’ll never stop - I can’t.

Clearly, based on the title of this posting, I finally got out of Wisconsin! I’ll just answer the question you may be asking - why Finland? My husband’s amazing nephew married an amazing Finnish woman and we got to attend their wedding. (Best party/wedding ever, period.)

One of the things I loved most about Finland was the midnight sun! It never got dark while we were there. The sun dipped below the horizon around 11:30 pm and then rose again around 3:00-3:30 am. It was phenomenal.

There are several gallery collections below. If I’ve added a description it will pop up when you hover over the image with your mouse. The first image in every gallery will have a description. You can see additional images from Finland by visiting my Insta Feed.
